It seems that no two spa pools or hot tubs are exactly the same! That’s why Sparmadillo covers are custom-made to suit your specific pool. To achieve the best possible fit, you’ll need to be comfortable measuring the pool yourself. Please take your time with this step, as if the measurements are wrong, the cover will be too.
How to Measure
In order to produce the best-fitting Sparmadillo cover, we need measurements that are as precise and accurate as possible. These measurements will also allow us to determine the necessary radius for corners and curves.
Sizing
To get an accurate quote, please provide the details of your pool.
- Dimensions of the outer edges of your pool. Use actual pool measurements, not measurements of your existing pool cover:
- Length and width for rectangular pools.
- Diameter (mm) for circular pools.
- Dimensions of any curves, e.g. at the corners of a square pool, are also required.
- Drawings are useful, such as a sketched plan or bird’s-eye view, as well as photographs.
- Pool make and model details.
- We will also need to determine the direction that the cover rolls up for rectangular pools.
Lockable
Please note that NZ safety standards require spa pools to be locked when not in use under adult supervision. The pool must also be less than 5 square metres and have non-climbable walls at least 760 mm high, unless the spa pool is inside a pool fence.
Sparmadillo covers can be made lockable as an option. We add stainless steel D-rings around the edge, along with webbing straps designed to fit into lockable clips around the outside wall of the pool.
Fitting
Sparmadillo covers are made as standard with a skirt around the edge, with either adjustable elastic or webbing to allow the cover to be pulled tight around the top lip of the pool.
